Welcome back John and Merry Christmas !!!!
I've been away too long.
It will be two years next month that I traded both my crossies for a tuna boat for wife to drive. As things turned out, I did not turn in my diver
's license, but I did spend 3 months in the hospital after a nasty fall and 13 days total amnesia. The following three months were in intensive physical therapy, learning how to walk again and reconstruct my motor reflexes. THL I made it out better than when I went in, but missing Snow White and my SR 6 Blue Boy. This summer I purchased a 2010 MIATA MX5 retractable hard top and have been having a all on the twisties with it and new found friends.
It is a beautiful handling car, and has a cult following much like the Crossies. It is NOT a CROSSFIRE though, and the itch finally became to great, so last weekend I scratched, and bought an Alabaster Roadster with 18,000 miles on it. My two cars now are apples and oranges in comparison, both with their own merits and both with their own faults. Hopefully at 83, I still have a few good drives left. Will see you on the road.
Dan, (Inferno) I will send you the numbers shortly. Hi Everyone....

Great News! I was there when he received that picture at Texas Motor Sports event at the Motel 6. Was a pleasure to meet him - and heartbreaking at the same time knowing he had given up his cars. I was amazed at what he had done with his Alabaster coupe!
Glad to hear you are back behind the wheel for more fun with us!

I have always kept in touch with John Penz and visit often as we have become really good friends over the years since meeting at our regular TMS meets. Now we have both returned to where our friends are, and both look forward to meeting up with Ya'll again.
Welcome back John. I was wondering Where you were. I have sent you Emails with out response. Now I know. Glad to hear you are up and running again. You take care my older friend. Lorne
Welcome back! Glad you are in better health. Those alabaster rag tops are the best! So wonderful that you bought a low mileage vehicle. Now come wear it out with us again on the Spring Dragon!
Welcome back John... glad to see your health issues are better. Also glad to see you're back in a Crossfire...they are really addicting, aren't they?... Merry Christmas....Carl
Welcome back John, I'm Dave, fairly new here to the forum but I, as you seem to be, appreciate the car. This is a great forum as I'm sure you already know.

How GREAT IT IS! Old Friends, New Friends, I love you all, and until you experience it yourself, you cannot know the uplifting feeling and appreciation one has to be back among the "living". I suffered the pangs of recrimination after having given up my dream machines, but realized that what I did was in the best interests of all.....my family, my friends and myself. Having been brought back from total incapacitation to reasonably good health, and with a better understanding of my limitations, I appreciate much more what I have been given with this new life to live and enjoy. I am looking forward to attending the TMS functions and possibly the Colorado runs with Itsky et al, participating at my own pace.
Friendship and understanding and the best medicine one could ask for. See you on the road and savor life the way you want it to be, but is not always the way you want.
