Found spring on floor under dash

Found spring on floor under dash

Wife found this spring on the floor underneath the dash on the driver's side, near the gas pedal.

Any ideas where it came from?

It looks like it comes from a teeny-tiny screen door. It won't be spring here for another 2+ months.

I looked at the gas pedals on ebay and did not see any spring like that. However, I looked at brake pedal assemblies and it has a spring like that. Here is the listing where you can see it.

The one in the ebay picture has longer hooks and appears to be made of heavier wire than the one in your photo. Although what it's not is not a lot of help to you.
