I need a key
Here is the key I was gonna buy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oem-Factory-Complete-Remote-Flip-Switchblade-Key-For-Chrysler-Crossfire-Uncut/311307767966?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkpa rms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3 D27706%26meid%3D8b6def52bb54488f8997521e4e9e5277%2 6pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D4008757468 40&rt=nc#
Only thing, the dealer told me that key would be useless because the "factory" has to laser cut that key according to the last 8 digits of the VIN...Is that right?

Programming: We know of no way to reprogram this remote so please do your homework before you purchase. We do not take returns on this item.
You did notice the disclaimer I hope. That would have been totally useless.
Noticed this too.. bet some ones not real happy..

Kool! Thanks for the website ala_xfire...Gonna save some bucks...He mentions programming the remote yourself...that would save me $100 over letting the dealership bleed me...Anyone know hoe to program the remote?
A quote from the needswings.com site when I looked up my key..." You can program the key yourself in a few minutes and save a lot of money versus paying a dealership to do it for you.".....So, has anyone programmed their own key?
The key you get from Rob has already been coded to your SKREEM by you supplying your VIN and proof of ownership when you order the key.
( This is the little non-powered chip in the key that is excited by the round antenna around the key lock )
The part about programming it yourself is about the powered part in the key where you set it to do the remote lock/unlock.
This is the transmitter that interacts with the HomeLink receiver where the 3 buttons are by the dome light.
Instruction on this are in the owners manual ( available from the below link in PDF format if you don't have one )
