Default My Crossfire was totaled

I have had my Crossfire for 5 years and 40,000 miles. Last week a guy turned left as I was passing him. The impact wasn't bad and the insurance guy thought he could fix my car. That was until he started looking up what the parts cost.
$1200 for a bumper cover, $1000 for a hood, etc.

They totaled it for $6900 which is $300 less than I paid for it 5 years ago.

I thought I might like another but I'm going to buy a car that can be driven in the snow and doesn't cost $800 for a set of tires.

It was fun while it lasted.

I have an extra set of 4 wheels for sale for $100 if anyone wants them. They must be picked up in SW Missouri zip 65604. Can provide more details thru email. Belkerx3@msn.com

Those parts prices are ridiculous. You can buy a NEW SRT6 front bumper cover for $350.00 . . .

Here's a brand new hood for $735.00 . . .

Doesn't your insurance company have a computer? It's ridiculous how flippantly they total out these cars . . .

When you can pay the buyer out, sell the old car as a wreck and come out with a loss smaller than repairing the car, what would you do?
It is called a good business decision.

I agree with you but they are putting our cars in the endangered species category.

I would be interested in the wheels if you still have them. I sent you an email as well.

Rush549 - you are first in line for the wheels. They are yours. Email sent.

Guys thanks for your concern. The car was totaled once before earlier in its life. That may have played a part in totaling it again.

It is a shame because it was a clean car. The insurance guy was certain the car will see the road again.

I doubt my new Civic 4 door will bring me the same smiles and looks from young kids like the Crossfire.
