Last fall I hit a big pothole 5 hours from my house omw home, blew passenger rear tire that was 6 months old.
After tow, hotel for the night and finding another tire, $643 later I was back on the road.

Yes it sucks when it happens, but honestly, how often does it happen.
I not to worried about it.
And just found out recently the pothole slightly bent front passenger wheel.
Not enough to not be driven, but enough to bug me to get a new set of wheels.

 

At 101,000 and loving it. Looking to change the following and need advise:

Differential fluid
Manual transmission fluid
Brake fluid
Oil

Yikes Joel. Making me look bad. I've only changed the engine oil. Retirement begins at end of month. Perhaps I'll have more time to replace the other fluids.

 

Not doing it all at one time but over next three months. Enjoy retirement.

Hey everyone I'm new to the forum I have an 04 that I bought when I was 17 and I'm 27 now I'm the 2nd owner and bought the car with 15,000 miles and I'm now a bit over the 100,000 mile club lol

 

Welcome. I bought a 2004 and am at 100,000. Have done the following over the years:
RCM resoldiered
CPS replaced
Sticking key fixed
Bought extra key
Replaced hood strut
Replaced steering stabilizer really loose
Front bumper repainted from road chips perfect match
Under doorsills sanded primed rust bullet and repainted
New hi brite headlight bulbs
Heavy duty battery
New rug carpets with Chrysler emblem
Replaced air filters
Up next this week:
74mm throttle body and gasket
Later this month 100,000 fluid changes-
Oil
Manual transmission
Differential
Brakes
May-June:
Driver side seat repair threads and leather restain
Two new wheels for the front

 

And also replaced the spark plugs as recommended by brand etc.

Don't forget the matching maf with tb
Instead of buying 1 used oem wheel, I bought 4 new, put on last weekend.

I've been in the post 200K for some time, but I'll soon be breaking 300K this summer.

 

At 101k ----Finally finally doing fluid changes for differential, manual transmission, brakes and power steering. Also will be doing fuel filter change and oil change following week and to top it off got eurocharge tune coming at $264 sale price total, Getting there.

 

dtd14 your baby hitting close to 300k is amazing accomplishment. What is the secret? No place yet for 200k crowd here much less 300k!

 

Just was wondering, does the motor smoke at all? And what have you changed above and beyond normal maintenance? Time chain, fuel filter, etc .

 

Got lucky with this gem. My convertible has 140K mile. I have done two tune ups at 100K and 200K, so a third is due.

Normal oil changes. Clean engine every year. Wash car twice per week.

Fan in car has been replaced - just stopped working (SLK part replacement).

My hood rusted so I replaced it.

Same muffler yet. No oil or smoke. I'm getting 28 Miles per gallon.

 

Wow I may actually not outlive my car based on having I hope a gem like yours!!! Your crossfire may be the highest mileage running crossfire in the USA! So naturally we need to know your secrets. No serious modifications? When you say tune ups what does that mean? Normal oil changes type oil and frequency? Clean engine personally or professionally? And 28mpg??? Wow

 

No mods - plain vanilla Crossfire coupe purchased July 2003. Tune ups include transmission and brake fluid change too. I'm no mechanic so all my work has been through my neighborhood Chrysler dealer - they know me and they too have a hard time believing the car is near 300K. My coupe is my year round car and I drive it all winter, so my convertible is spoiled and gets a break in winter. I had some trouble with the back hatch latch but the dealer finally got that fixed.

Ive had mine for 10 years now and only needed a couple things done as far as service so far and had Rudy (rcompart) here do a few of them.
Just curious what dealer you have gone to over all these years.
Never once had any dealer ever work on my Crossfire with all the horror stories here.
I'm right out here in Aurora so it would be good to know where you go and who you trust

I have taken my car to only three shops; one near home and two near where I work. The dealer near home works well with me and I like their certified tech. The home dealer is Crystal Lake Chrysler and the two other shops are: Palmen Chrysler 5431 75th St, Kenosha, WI 53142 and Liberty Chrysler 1000 E Park Ave, Libertyville, IL 60048.

He lives in Crystal Lake but no longer has his Crossfire and seldom ever visits the forum here anymore
