I've, like many of you I'm sure, have seen the commercial advertising the Alfa Romeo with the self deploying front splitter. I'm trying to talk my grandson in to designing and making a few of those fot our Crossfire. Understand that this is just an idea as of now. My Grandson is a professor of engineering at Ohio University. Why I'm posting this now is to see if there would be interest for others who may want to purchase a self deploying splitter. Let me know here if you are interested. Know this may come to naught if there us no interest beyond myself.

Perhaps we could make it much much bigger. Like NASCAR uses and put blinking lights on it??? Or deploy it just the opposite of the spoiler. It deployed at 5 mph and goes back at 60???

 

I'd just break it off when I overshot my parking one day.

 

I would think with a $4000 splitter that you would want back in so that you can show it off!!! Also with a $4000 splitter I think you would back in just for the reason you stated!!!

I thought that I responded here but I guess not. This just a feeler and I was kidding about that 4K. Sorry I thought that it was so dumb that everybody would know that. Again sorry, tis just my way.

 

I had thought about this for my pinto years ago... The plan yas to use a a flexable member in fron that would UNFURL with wind pressure be it a spoiler or now days splitter for down force. The alpha is for looks as it is small in area. Woody

 

It looks pretty cool, I live in Lancaster,OH if he makes it and needs people to try it out!

 

Just make sure "Hello Kitty Pink" is in the color options or they won't sell.
