Take it to an independent german car repair facility. Also, when you say computer issue, it may be a simple fix. Let us know what the symptoms are and we can help with the diagnosis. Someone (another owner) in your area may be able to help you. Also, you could send the RCM to Tighthed1 and he'll repair it.

Very sorry to hear your car problem is making you look to sell it. It may or may not actually be a computer issue. The best place to get help is here with the resident subject matter experts.

If you don't want to bother with that it would help to include more details about the car.

I think all of this talk about "PCM not able to program" is baloney. A car that won't start is often the victim of relatively simple issue(s). MANY make it way harder than it really is.

If you have the famous "I hit the key and lights on the dash come on, but the starter does not engage, I don't even get a 'click' or anything" is usually a simple issue in the RCM. The engine control relay output is 'missing' due ot fractured solder or a bad relay.

DO THIS:

Get in the car, turn key to "on" so the dash lights come on, etc.
Wait 30 seconds.
If the engine cooling fan spins up to "warp speed" (you cna't miss it, you will hear it), then the engine control relay output is at fault on the RCM. You won't be able to "connect to" or "program" the ECU because it is not powered up.

TO FIX:

Send the RCM to DJ and for about $35, it will come back fixed.

If the engine cooling fan does NOT spool up to high speed, we have more investigation to do.

So many posts and threads to read, so I gave up. He said he had done the RCM among others.
