When did you buy your Crossfire
When did you buy your Crossfire
I purchased my 2005 roadster on Nov. 19th 2005. It was an executive drivin car with 4,200 miles on it. I fell in love with the Crossfire after reading about and seeing pictures of the concept car. It has been over 12 years and I love it as much as the day I drove it home.I plan to keep it for as long as I live and give it to my adult son some day.
I hope he loves it as much as I do.

Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
Bought our 2007 Limited Coupe in OCT of 2008. Found the car on a Mitsubishi dealer's lot in KCMO while visiting my Dad for a weekend. Wife & I had been talking about buying a Crossfire and the Machine Gray color really looked nice on this one. Car had only 1500 miles on it from the original owner. Car was traded for a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder. When I asked if the dealer knew why the car was traded in, they told me that the previous owner said the Chrysler Crossfire "drove & rode like a sports car". Go Figure!!! Turned out to be meant for us to own it. And it does "drive & ride like a sports car"!!! Ain't it great!!!
One man's misery is another man's joy!!!

Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
My wife insisted that I buy the black 2004 6 speed from the dealership where she worked in 2005. It had 50 kilometres on the odo. I had it for six years and felt the need of a bit more power so I purchased an SRT with 19,500 miles on the odo from Florida. My wife did not see the need for two Crossfires so the 2004 went six months later, l cannot say I missed it too much.
Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
I purchased my '05 Limited in 2008 with 62,000 kilometers, it now has 162,000 kilometers. I purchased the SRT in 2010 from the original owner, a forum member in Florida, it had 4,400 miles when I picked it up, it now has 11,000 miles. It seems like I only just got them!
Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
Bought my srt 6 undriven, or seen except for pictures,, off ebay from a dealer in Gainesville Fl. in 2010, with 18000 miles, I modded it to the max, (not enough) so at 30,000 miles I ask Rudy to install a V8 into it, the rest is history , Oh, i now have 60,000 miles on the"worlds fastest crossfire" Happy New year. jim
Oh I forgot , on my way home from buying my car i stopped off at the palm beach drag strip the car ran 13.50 in the 1/4 mile on it's first run.

Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
Bought mine NEW on 24 July 2009 @ 23 miles on the odometer (referenced in 5th line of signature). Under hood and entire interior still looks brand new (kept in a garage when not used). Exterior has a few road dings but doesn't everyone? The car is over 10 years old but with me for 8 1/2 yrs. I plan on keeping it for a long time. This car was my 2nd new car purchase. The first new car was a 1981 Subaru GL10 bought new in Toms River NJ when stationed at McGuire AFB in central NJ.

Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
I bought mine back in November last year from a private seller in Dallas, TX. It has 112,000 miles. However, the whole engine has been rebuild. It was running solid.
As an update, the mystery no start was caused by a damaged key. I just ordered a new one through NeedsWings today.

Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
I bought my srt6 used from a dealership in 2013. An old lady was the prior owner and I believed she got rid of it because the water pump for the heat exchanger had fail causing the car to have no power when the supercharger got hot. Dealership didn't know this, so I was able to knock 1k off the price. I got it for 8k it did have 119k on it. Its up to 180k, I bought a high mileage one because it was going to be my new daily driver.
Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
Most srt-6 were low mileage ones with high asking pricing at the time I bought mine. I think they were still going for 15k+ about 5 years ago. My srt-6 was replacing my 4th gen f-body z28 that didn't have ac. I needed a car with ac and wanted another sport car and I happen to stumble across this crossfire srt-6.

Re: When did you buy your Crossfire
Started looking online in Sept of 2016 to get an idea of what it was gonna take to buy one in the Spring of 2017. Found and fell in love with a 2005 limited roadster with 68k miles on it, flew out to PA and bought it in Nov of 2016. After having it over the winter, I decided I needed a Crossfire to drive on cold days in Colorado....and more power. Bought a 6 coupe in September last year with 65k miles on it in Nashville from a forum member, though I didn't even know about the forum at the time. Just put a 600 mile roadie on it....got several of the usual "nice car" type compliments. No divorce was involved.
