Bad rear control arm bushings?
Bad rear control arm bushings?
Has anyone had their rear control arm bushings go bad in their Crossfire? Brought the car to a shop for state inspection and they said the rear passenger side control arm bushings were cracking and need replacement. The car drove absolutely fine...very tight suspension, no shakes, vibrations or strange noises at any speed. The shop claimed the car was too dangerous to drive home. Does this sound right? Just curious to see if anyone else ran into this. If the bushings are bad, would there be any noticeable signs of it driving the car?
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Bad rear control arm bushings?
This is an old thread, but I thought I'll add some knowledge to the matter. I have mine shot and actually noticed this when changing the shocks. I decided to order the control arm also, cause it was cheap and I could rebuild it with a new bushing for future use. But, the bushing being shot is the outer one, which is attached to the wheel carrier and it needs to be pressed/hammered away. I have actually had a C Mercedes with the same rear suspension, so I know that this is the first part to fail in the rear suspension.
