Default control arm bushings

The mechanic I have that works on my SRT6 told me that both of my front lower control arm bushings are wearing out and will need to be replaced. I can feel the slight vibration in the steering wheel. Not great, but it is there. Now I know that the bushings are what really wear out on this part. Questions: Has anyone else experienced this? Can you have new bushings put in or does the whole control arm need to be replaced? Where did you get you parts? He also said that from his experience, that many European cars seemed to have this problem. Especially BMW's. Thanks!

This piece?

If so it's only about $60, just replace the unit.

The lower control car bushings can be pressed out and new ones installed. It's a bear of a job and the arms need to be removed. The bushings in our lower control ares are shared with several MB models. All the 203's for instance. I got mine from an online MB discount store.

I guess part of my confusion was that I saw that part for $60 up to over $500. So I wasn't sure if one was a rebuilt/refurbished part and one new. If there is no difference between the parts, I will just pay the $60 and replace it. Thanks. I wasn't sure, and thought since I have gotten good advice from people on the Forum before I would ask and make sure I was doing the right thing. Thanks.

I have new bushings that I bought from Rob at Needswings but then I ended up getting a pair or used lower control arms from a local salvage yard (they were a lot more than $60 each so I don't know where that price came from). If you want the brand new bushings I can send them to you for $85.00 delivered to your door (that's to replace the bushings in BOTH lower control arms. Let me know if you want them at RedDogNumber1@aol.com.

I purchased used lower control arms and had the new bushing installed and then swapped the whole caboodle. What was in my original control arms was 2023336416 and what went in the new ones was 1703300075. Google is your friend for finding them and what they fit. The labor is more than the parts.

Front uppers are about $60, front lower control arms are around $130. Yes, Google is your friend, and so it's rockauto

Do you think I should go ahead and replace upper as well as lower control arms? As long as I am paying someone to do the work and the steering is half way apart, why not just do both? It may be cheaper to do both since the upper control arms will probably need to be replace in the near future anyway. Right?

OK - Just to be clear . . . the OP said he had bad bushings in the lower control arms. You posted a picture of an upper control arm and told him to just replace the units and that they cost $60 each.

One of us was confused and I don't think it was me . . .
