I have always loved stripes on a muscle car but since I own a SRT6 Crossfire Roadster, this will be the closest I get for now. I did a lot of research on striping layouts as well as color ideas. The pics show what I came up with. The stripes were cut from 3M dark gray vinyl using 3M knifeless tape and 3/8" dark red pinstripes. I designed the stripes around the ribs on the hood to avoid having to stretch the vinyl into the creases. I have also color matched the windshield surround. Posting to get some feedback on the body changes.
I like it. Very well thought out and executed. I'd like to see a photo shoot in natural light with some good scenery behind it. Man, your headlights sure look good and clear! Good looking car.
I think black cars look best all black with a touch of chrome. The black and silver trimmed car as it came from the factory looked good as well, I had one.
Anything behind that grille should be blacked out.
The OEM grille hides what is behind it and in my mind has not been bettered. Painting the OEM grille black and or adding chrome to it is an option.
Grilles made from bar stock do not appeal to me.
Nice car though, but a bit too much striping and too many colours, subtlety is the key to success.
Very nicely done, would also like to see a picture in natural light.
I never have been a stripe fan but the right car, colour and striping can really personalize your ride.
Nice car.
Thanks for all the feedback. Have not done the rear yet. The front was a solid 6 hrs. Laying out knifeless tape was 4 hrs alone.
I'll post pics of the back when I get it done.
The nice thing about vinyl is that it can be removed if don't like the look.
The car is in great condition with 29k miles. Bought it 6 years ago with 16k miles.
Living in central New York does not allow much nice weather driving. Stored in garage 8 months/year.
I for one like the stripes but would have covered the spoiler also.
Being old I wanted to say that the reason for stripes WAS to assist in racing. They were in line with the drivers head and assisted in situation awareness, helping the driver know which way the car was pointing during agressive driving. Sorta like the stripe on the steering wheel to indicate where the wheel is pointed, to help reduce cockpit overload. Woody
An attractive woman doesn't need much or any makeup .
I kinda apply that to the Crossfire & feel some of the plastic looking facials of women today really look unreal !
Can't imagine snuggling up to a grease job !
I like it! And I didn't even notice the windshield surround until it was mentioned...so that's a good thing. I guess having stripes on the wing wouldn't be a bad idea but again, unless someone mentions it, it probably wouldn't be noticed by most people. It's a great looking car.
By the way, does Central NY mean Syracuse? I lived there for four years after spending most my life in Rochester. I'm so glad not to be shoveling snow ever again, Lord willing.
Thanks for the additional feedback I was on the fence about doing the wing but seeing the latest comments, sounds like a plan.
Hawker, I am about an hour east of Syracuse. Town of New Hartford. Winters can be brutal so it means my toy is stored 8 months of the year.
I'm considering some performance enhancements next year like the Needswings exhaust with high flow cats and either tweaked stock intake or aluminum intake manifolds.
Saved a little money not traveling this year....
Recently purchased a 2005 Crossfire SRT6 Roadster, aero blue with white? double pinstripes just above the break on the fenders. Were these standard on the SRT6? Factory option? Dealer option or strictly aftermarket?
They are starting to crack, so considering removing or replacing with silver.

Congrats on your purchase, the stripes are aftermarket.
Re: Crossfire Stripes - Love or Hate? Removing with 3M wheel?
Any experience or advice re removing pinstripes with the 3M remover wheel? Auto supply stores, Amazon etc. also have knock offs for much less $; same thing??
Since you asked for OPINIONS, I prefer the stock look of a well-detailed black Crossfire. Of course, I prefer my graphites because they are easier to keep clean and shiny.
That said, from the front it looks ok with the stripes but it looks way too busy in the rear.
