Default Check engine code

I was driving the other day when my crossfire dropped out of gear ,I coasted off the interstate I put in park and then back in drive all I was able to do get in first gear and my check engine light turned on. I made it home and parked it. A few days later the check engine light was still on but the transmission worked for the short period time I drove it. I got a code of po578.
any advise will be appreciated.

This is called limp mode when only one gear can be selected.
I had it on the same basic transmission in a Chrysler 300, it came and went for a while but then went into limp mode permanently, it was caused by a faulty solenoid in the transmission electrical plate.
