Hi guys!

So my steering wheel was torn so I bought a used one (without air bag) and had it installed by a mechanic. So far so good...looks great. That has been three weeks ago. I don't know if my problem is in an way related, but sometimes while driving the airbag light comes on on my dash. It kind of appears randomly and goes away then comes back on. Usually doesn't stay on for the whole drive but like I said... intermittently.
Does this actually mean my airbag isn't functioning or is this a false warning?
Don't want to drive around with airbags deactivated. What could be the culprit? If it has anything to do with the steering wheel replacement I'll take car back to the mechanic and have them go over their work again to see if they hooked something up incorrectly.

Get the CRP 123 code reader and it will point to the issue, at least it helped me on my last XF.

 

I would take it back to the mechanic and have him check his work.

 

ANY TIME THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON, IT IS NOT A FALSE WARNING! With that said, make sure you do not 'backyard mechanic' fix it.
