Default Emblem adhesive?

So what are our deck lid emblems supposed to be adhered with? I previously knocked off an s. Recently knocked off the Chrysler wing emblem. Looks to have had a black double side tape, appears to have been installed with super glue. Fell off with a good slam, need new struts. Thinking 1/16th van tape would be good. Tips on cleaning old super glue?
thx!

Mount emblems with 3M UHB double sided tape, clean old adhesive with 3M adhesive remover. Both available on Amazon or Space Age Paint on Country Club in Mesa.

No74 - I used the 3M double sided tape as well. Found mine at O'Reilly Auto Parts store. Any good body shop paint and supply store should also have the same but it's in larger size and cost's more.

FWIW ... I personally prefer to use a hairdryer instead of a heat gun to remove vehicle badging. IMO, there's less risk of damaging the paint with a hairdryer and it accomplishes the same objective.

Goo Gone, WD40 or tar remover for auto paint cleaning.
WD40 softens or dissolves silicon given enough time.
