Talking Finally changed my seatbelt - raised it

My seat belt receptacle has bugged me forever, its too damn low in the seat making it hard to use. At the beginning of the forum, many were offended by my activities, as I have no concern for making changes of upgrades such as the DCAI, oil cooler, beltsaver, Fuelair compensator,or dead pedal changes. Here is another mod that I have been wanting to do.

Finally pulled the seat, removed my 5 point seat belt and left the original belt. Covid has killed the autocross activities round here it seems. I also made and added a link to the seat belt holder to raise it up 2.5". I had lowered the seat for autocrossing to make room for my helmet, but the seat belt position did not change as the seat belt is anchored to the seat frame. Iam 6' tall and 229 # but the holster on my right side gets in the way making getting the seatbelt on or off a challenge. The photos show the before and after location of the "socket" relative to the seat cushion. Enjoy Woody

I have the belt extension and it flops around where most of the time it takes two hands to connect my belt.
you know when i was swapping seats left to right, i should have seen that the seats have bolt location on both sides of the seat.

wow so simple, why didn't i think of that. will have mine changed soon thanks

I just disable the chime. Much easier.

The 3 inch seat belt extender is rigid and don't flop over. I have them in all my cars.

Curious, did you use the 'software' version or the 'cut the wires' version? Either one works but the 'software' version leaves the wiring pristine.

No, natural selection is when you are buckling up and the belt clasp triggers your gun and you get shot in the thigh or *********.
Ouch! That smarts.

I do the Israeli carry, not loaded for safety.

I am not a cop and dont need immediate reaction, as a ARMY veteran / citizen Iam armed in case of a situation but enjoy the delay of loading and thinking first. There are crazy people driving thru crowds and going crazy in the mall, preparation is important and holster is fully enclosed.

have to look it up, but software. Buckle belt, turn on key,….
By far the safest car I have ever owned.
1968 convertible corvette, lap belt only, didn’t wear that either. If I wrecked it I would rather be thrown clear!
1973 VW Bus. Also lap belt only, didn’t wear that either. If I’m going to hit something, I’m getting in the back!
I do wear my belt if I get on the expressway. Other than that I usually only travel like one mile.
