AC/Heater Unit?
I am not sure if this is where this question goes but hopefully someone can help out - my seat heaters don't work - but now I think I have a bigger problem - I will have to schedule an appointment to have it looked at - You will not believe this, the last few days have been extremely cold here in dallas, tx. (20-30 degrees) I went out to my car today to come to work and the entire way here the a/c - heater did not work at all - I mean nothing was blowing out of the vents - nothing - it was awful, considering it was like 25 degrees outside - does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? maybe a electrical short?
or is it the cold weather perhaps?
Thanks -

When you turn the ac/heater fan on, it doesn't blow any air? If this is the case, it is either a bad blower motor, bad switch or it's not getting power. I don't think the seat heaters and the blower motor is on the same circuit so I think it's just a coincidence that they both stopped working around the same time. I would begin by checking the fuse for the seat heaters and the blower motor.
Yes, I agree you are right - the two are probably not related - the seat heaters stopped working a little while ago - the ac/heater unit blows absolutely nothing out - i dread having to take it to the dealer - it should be covered under warranty?

The 7 year/70,000 mile won't cover anything that doesn't touch oil, your blower would not be covered.
The 7/70 Added Care Upgrade Plan (service contract) covers only those things listed in the contract. The blower is not listed in mine. Perhaps yours lists it though.
Your warranty will cover the seat heaters, but be warned that the fix for the seat heaters will be up to the dealer. Many here have had the seat heaters issue and the problem has been handled differently by each dealer. In my case my dealer had new seats bottoms and backs installed by an outside upholstery shop. Others on this forum have had only the defective unit replaced (bottom or back) while others had the heating elements replaced and their seat covers were poorly re-installed, stretched or torn. In some cases DChrysler has deemed when the seat covers were poorly installed that it was acceptable(go figure). Do a search there are many threads on the subject.

Thanks for the tips regarding the seat heaters- I will definately take it in this week and hope for the best- I have taken it in one other time for the cupholder- and the dealership seems ok, nothing was scratched or mishandled-
Now that a few days have gone by and it has warmed up a little bit here- the heater/ac unit has been working fine- so I guess it's not the blower fan/motor etc. I will still ask them to check it out- I have had other cars and that has never happened before-

I have the same problem, a few days ago I noticed that no air was coming from the vents. It's gets cold in Kentucky also. Was yours fixed or is there still a problem ? Let me know what your status is or what repairs were done.
