Supercharger for '04 Coupe?
Best to sell the na model and get an SRT6. The delta in cost between the two is less than the cost of the SC Kit from Kleemann. I really debated this before I bought my Limited Coupe but I had to draw the line on cost at some point. I know the SRT can be had for another $5K but I just couldn't justify it.
FYI, http://www.speedinnovation.com sells a chip that will get you an additional 20 hp and 20 tq at the wheel for $600. Its not close to SC power but its more hp per dollar.

yea problem is kleeman is at or above OEM quality and offers a one year warranty on their system ... which was obviously designed with mercedes owners in mind ... and here we have us able to buy this car for 3x the cost of their low boost kit.
keep in mind that you can get a roush supercharger kit for a new mustang that produces more power, is of OEM quality, has a air to water intercooler for the same 6k ... it makes you feel silly paying so much for so little (a non intercooled supercharger and a extra injector and controller).

not to mention the clutch slips and brakes/suspension can't handle the new power. Bottom line, if you need bigger power buy a faster car.

My experience has been that anytime you increase power (by lets say 50% or more) with an aftermarket kit there are always compromises. Things rub, don't fit quite right...

but again ... wrong market .... if you had a SLK320 back when they came out and wanted to bring it to SLK32 speed wise, this would be the cheap alternative to buying the AMG ... crossfire owners ! = mercedes owners in terms of wallet thickness ...
You make some very good points. Also, SLK320 vs an AMG ;-) no question about what I would be forced to do from a cost perspective. I'm also sure that an extra 100hp under the hood would make for an extremely fine ride. To be honest, I would consider putting a low boost kit on my XFire but I would have to be pretty sure of its quality. Not only fit and finish but even more important to me is the drivability which includes fuel and timing management. A car that dies when coming to a stop, has cold start problems and knock (just to name a few) = NO FUN. I guess using the SLK320 guys as a source of info is by far the best option. If many of them swear by the kit then its likely to be a good solution.
The final issue for me is installation. I have installed a supercharger and a turbo on Miata's and it was not extremely difficult. I would much rather do the install myself and save that added cost if possible. Not sure if any 320 owners have done their won install or not. Might be worth asking.
