Default Dyno/power question

Hey guys so I have a question. My car was put on a mustang dyno the other day and it only made 320/335 with a tune 65 mm pulley robs dcai and his tweaked manifolds. To me that seems low for people who have about the same mods. Do you think I have a problem somewhere or does that sound about right. I also feel like sometimes when I go wot the supercharger doesn't engage right away. I have already replaced the ic pump and I have searched the forums already so I am kind of stumped on what the problem if there is one might be. Id appreciate any input thanks guys.

According to the article, adding 60 hp to your results puts you around 380 hp, which sounds right to me...!!
Also, did you do a throttle reset before the run?

Those numbers are good! Like you say, mustang dynos always seem to read low ! What gear did you pull in ?

I use a Mustang dyno. The best hp I got with the 65mm pulley, dual CAI, teflon Y pipe and dyno tune was around 320. My memory is selective so I can't remember if I had the cat delete downpipes or not. 300 hp and 300 tq was the most I got without a good tune though. Your not that far off. If I had to guess it would be that your tune needs adjusting. It sounds like a lean moment when you hit the gas. Did you retune for the manifolds?

Ok that makes me feel better then. I did tell them I had them so I assume they were accounted for in the tune but can't be positive

The best way to compare your car to others is the mph in the 1/4 mile. Even if you have trouble hooking up leaving the line the mph won't vary more than 2 or 3 mph. I'm currently at 350hp at 6000 rpm with long tube headers, NW manifolds, and I can't remember ……. and my 1/4 mile mph is between 116 to my best of 117.40. My all time best torque number is under 330. Go figure.

Yea I've been meaning to get to the strip but I wanted to get everything sorted out first. I think I'm going to check the gap on the clutch just make sure it's not like only partially engaging

Could you explain what the throttle reset would do in this case?

Um...reset the throttle to adjust to the harder WOT push being used on the dyno. May help with the initial lag he's experiencing! Surely wouldn't hurt it.
Doing a reset after a tune change is a no-brainer, and something alot of people forget to do....!!!

Whose tune are you using? If Eurocharged you should be able to datalog the boost. I usually have to do the throttle reset after each tune change, otherwise often my motor does to limp mode, reset and all is well again

I have done one in the past but I didn't do one prior to the tune and I would assume the pulls were done in 3rd or 4th as most of you say you've done but not sure. The thing with the lag is i don't feel it when launching from a stop it's really only when I'm going like 40-60 and then punch it.

A dyno is primarily a tuning tool, not a sheet you fold and keep in your wallet to pull out and show others in a ****ing contest. I was actually at a car show once where a guy did not have his car because it was down for some reason and he actually pulled out his dyno sheet! It was hard not to laugh and yes it was primarily in a rural area. Can you say Hee haw?!LOL
It is best to do the mod right there on the spot right after the first pull. You may have a higher dyno number and still lose to a car with a lower number at the track. The dyno number is something personal for, AGAIN, Tuning purposes.
If there were enough guys in close proximity to a dyno perhaps a group deal could be worked out if the number is all you care about. Like at the SLK Picnic where detailing your car is more important than how it runs.
This is part of my "Fall Fever" so take it with a grain of salt. Offense could be intended. If you are offended then it must fit.

On the FB page, someone was mentioning about how unplugging your EGR valve sensor will help with that "lag" Of course it will put your CEL on after like 20 miles or so.

Attached are the results from today's pull on a Mustang Dynamometer. I have limited modifications that include:

1. 62mm EC pulley
2. Single CAI from NW
3. Stock Tune

First pull we did in gear 3 and had almost 400lbs of torque, which makes sense because that's where I felt the greatest effect after the pulley change. Second pull was a 4th gear pull at 5800rpms, and the numbers are self evident. 350HP at the wheels, 342lbs of torque. AFRs were 12.2. He says the HP was on a steady climb and he could have got a few more at redline. Torque leveled off.

Now, I'm a little disappointed because I expected 350 numbers in both torque and HP. I have no tune, and this guy is saying that the benefits of an EC tune don't warrant the cost. Thoughts? He said that AFRs indicate a good ratio, and he feels like exhaust and a TCU tune are the answer.

I don't really know what is good or bad with these SRT6 motors as my experience is with carbuereted small block Chevy motors or Mopar big blocks. He said the numbers are solid, but I've seen a lot of comments that show better torque and around 5-6HP increase with similar modifications. HOWEVER, those comments rarely have a dyno sheet with results. So.....give me some input gentleman. Will an EC canned tune boost these numbers enough to get excited about? Are these normal numbers for the limited mods I have?

Your input is appreciated.
