Sorry to hear this. I think the key to this terrible crash is "unlicensed driver". Most likely an illegal imigrant. The news media is reluctant to put these facts in print because the liberal media wants amnesty. This kind of thing happens way too often. I hope the family sues the the company that let this man drive and gets millions. I know it won't bring their son back, but the compony needs to punished. Sorry to put a political spin on your post, but it needed to be addressed.

Re: The good die young...
alot of the times on the road I've experienced young motorcyclist, and I find they lack the sense of danger when they ride. They don't use their imagination enough nor think ahead as to what lies over the back of a blind hill, while they open it up to 165mph.
I see it numerous times on the freeways, these kids ride in your blind spot, pass you on the right side, or thier exhaust isn't loud enough for people to hear em coming.
Then I see the other side of the coin where a cabby killed a kid I knew from Highschool. the driver's are on thier cell phones or talking to another person in the car and end up side swiping you into the gutter.
usually everyone is at fault, and at the speeds the new bikes can accelerate at, they should be relagated to the track and not the freeways. IMO.
