Sorry am a bit too late in response and some of us are just...shy.
3g iphone has reached Asia, but have not hit Singapore. I am in the waiting list but yet to confirm.
After the "hoo-haa" of feedback, which is not so +tive, I may want to reconsider.
Its cool to be able to be on network 24/7.
I used to log onto this site via my N70 and now Sony Ericcson W580i.
Soon to be via 3G iphone, or Blackberry... perhaps perhaps perhaps
Good luck to you with yours.

I helped launch some of the tri-state area Apple Stores. So whenever they have something good in they usually keep one aside for me. I was able to pick up the 16gb white on Friday afternoon. The device is addicting..., I just wish there was a easy way to integrate this with the factory nav radio.

The 3G speeds are great, the speeds are substantially better than the Edge network. I actually waited until now to get a Iphone, I never purchased a original Iphone(2g). So far I don't have any complaints. They battery I would say is definitely the only downside. the Wi-Fi connectivity is amazing too. I'm toying with some remote desktop third party apps now, to manange some servers at the office.
For this price it just can't be beaten.

The only hitch is that I first have to VPN in to our network before I can RD to the server, but I think the embedded iPhone VPN client supports L2TP/IPSEC, so it should work with our Ciso routers.

Nevertheless, besides reading reviews from C/net, I appreciate firsthand experience feedback from you and others.
Thank you lots.

MS-SQL= Structured Query Language (pronounced Sequel) Databasing software
VPN= Virtual Private Networking... A way of private telecommunication
RD= Remote Desktop.. Controlling nodes from elsewhere, hence the "remote"
Win2K3= Windows Server 2003
L2TP= Level 2 Tunnelling Protocol... Encryption that occurs @ the 2nd layer of the ISO Model of Telecommunications
IPSEC= Internet Protocol Secured (IPv6??? It's been awhile) Standard US IP security is 128bit, that's why you see versions of MS Windows saying "For US Only" Winblows for export is @ 64bit encryption. IPv6 uses not only numbers in the IP Address (example: a simple router 192.168.0.1) IP v6 would be something in Hexadecimal (0-F with F being 16) 000af:0a0ab:etc. Look like Greek yet?? Which is why it hasn't caught on yet
Router= an intelligent device that directs packets of information to it's destination.
With all this now you are ready to decode his last post, something like this:
He's an IT custodian of some web servicing hardware, but has engineering support as backup should something catastrophic happen. Those machines are running Winblows Server 2003, but the current iPhone can't administer those boxes remotely (where the RD came in). Now because of the business sector as security minded as it is, (here's where the VPN comes in), to get into the company network, a secure means is necessary. Now to remotely access the servers to administer them the Iphone needs to talk to the Cisco router with the proper encryption language, otherwise all is lost.
There's your English.
Hope I got it all right, it's been a few years lying dormant...
Justin

For all the other Servers, SQL server 2005, print and file, terminal services, and a few other application servers, I still plan on using the old fashion RDP,, (j/k)..
tested the Iphone out tonight and it works great. A buddy of mine copied some code from various other 3rd party vendors to help. RDM+ is a good option he said without much tweaking.
