Default 5 Star Chrysler Oil Change today

Hello want to say thanks to everyone on these forums and the great wisdom

Just bought my 2005 Roadster a month ago with 30,000 miles
Had the usual problem people here have had they replaced the
filter and had the o-rings on wrong , oil evrywhere was a slow weep
at the filter which turned to a SEEP! thank -god the belt didn't come
off like some people

The 5 star dealer changed my oil today and they said they no longer use
mobil in crossfires, they said they changed to Quaker State 5w40
synthetic oil. Does anyone know If I just was fed a bunch of CRAP!
or taken but the oil SEEP has stopped!
btw the oil change was $129.85 $9.45 a quart for 8 qts.
thank-you
Bill

The prefered oil remains Mobile1 0W-40, should meet MB 229.3 or MB 229.5 specs.

As to stopping the oil leak - that is a function of having the o-rings on correctly and the filter cover torqued correctly.

Manufacturers/Dealers take the lowest bidder when it comes to oil. Usually, it is Castrol or Quaker State. They get the oil for pennies on the quart and charge you retail + for it. The better ones will match the weight of the oil to whatever is recommended, if it is available. If not, they get as close as they can....and you have the proof. They would not make near as much $$$ by using the recommended Mobil One.

Just one more reason to do it yourself.....in my opinion. Then you have no doubt the correct oil was used, the o-rings are in the proper position, and the satisfaction knowing that your car has been serviced correctly. It's so easy, anyone could do it!!!

Thank-You guys for your up front opinions,
Thats what I was wondering. Exactly!! I will have to
go buy some mobil 1 0w40 synthetic and fleece filter
and see what I can do on my own i have been reading
the oil change posts on here shouldn't be too hard
always changed my own oil until the Crossfire
I was wondering if they were just giving me the BS story and
in short I guess they were!
Peace
Bill
