Default A little help

So I was on the freeway yesterday and their was an audi a5 next to me that kept pushing me to race. Anyway, I finally put it to third gear by hitting the gas raising the rpm and sliding it in 3rd and popping the clutch. (Going about 65) So it popped in, everything was good till I hit the gas. The car wouldn't go, just vibrate and growl. I pulled over to the side, (engine check light came on). Turned off car, started it again and worked perfectly fine. Any caution or help would be appreciated!

Thanks guys,
-Gdrag

Could it be that the car has more brains than you have?
Sorry, I could not miss that one. My neighbors son was killed street racing, it devastated the family.

I can understand that comment. It was 11pm at night with very few to none cars on the freeway here, but there is a possibility that the car is smarter then me and was asking daddy not to play so ruff.

P.S.
I disconnected the battery, and now there is no engine check sign on.
