Default No Power to radio!

I cut the factory radio iso connector off then spliced it back correctly, but now apparently the wires are not getting any power. Does anybody know what I can check to figure out what needs to be done. I have found a radio wiring harness that seems like it replaces the whole harness, http://www.cellularaccessory.com/qchbb-mbz.html
I have also found a replacement ISO connector for the Male side (factory side). This would need to be wired into the wires where I originally cut the connector off. or
METRA 71-1784 The 71-series harnesses are designed to plug into the factory radio Volkswagen 1987-Up - Into OEM Radio Power and 4-Speaker 16-pin connector HARNESS;
Anybody encountered this problem and figured out whats the best plan to fix it?
