Electronic exhaust dump-out. Pretty standard way to have a quiet and loud exhaust on one car.

Yeah, the exhaust shop just cuts out a section of pipe after the headers and welds in the electronic cutout...might get pricey on our cars though since we have duals until the muffler. The wiring you can do yourself.

Some people on here have the cutouts, like Jim's V8 Crossfire.

Yep. They usually have flanges on either end so you just remove a section of existing pipe where you want it to go, the length of the cutout of course, weld flanges onto the ends of the pipe left on the car and bolt the cutout onto those flanges. Wiring is very simple, they usually come with a standard universal harness that only requires you to place the switch and hook it up to power.

don't they get gummed up with rust/crud etc in quite a short period of time?
