Default Roadster~ Map Reading Lamps

One of the map reading lamps requires a new bulb in my 05 Roadster. Wondering if anyone knows how to replace the lamp ~ i.e., taking off the lens cover without damage? Should be a simple procedure, however the owners booklet doesn't mention anything on lens removal to replace the bulb. Appreciate your help/suggestions. Thom

Carefully snap it off from the front. It has small plastic grips that can break off. Just do it slowly, not a lot of force and you'll see it come undone. Also I noticed that the lights are finicky, meaning they can lose power (on-off) easily when jarred. I replaced mine with the same blue neon that the door sills have. It looks pretty good, obviously, I can't see **** when the dome light is on though.

Better way is. Remove the cover (your write you have done that). Then take a screw driver and remove the two screws you find on the lamp panel. Remove the lamp panel and the it is very easy to take out the bulb holder with bulb. With that way you cant damage anything. Good luck.

Thanks for the great info ~ will do as you both say. Sure beats taking it to the dealer and waiting a couple of hours while the "Crossfire Expert" does the job. Thom
