Default Becker 6810 Nav Parrot 3000 evo hands-free

Hi All, I have retrofitted a Becker Sat/Nav together with a parrot evo hands-free voice activated bluetooth to my roadster and all is good with one exception. Every time i use the hands-free the spoiler deploys and errors. The only way to retract it is to shut the car off and re-start. Has anyone seen any issues of this ilk before?

Also I'm looking to add Desion Ice-link for my Ipod, any heads-up on this would be welcome.

Thanks

JP.

Last time I checked with Desion, they did not have a kit for the Crossfire OEM Becker unit.

I hacked a CD-Changer and iPod Remote Kit from becker together to work, and I'm working on getting the audio from the changer to be optional but available... look for my thread here.

Do a search and you'll see that several people have had problems with the spoiler after doing stereo work. You most likely have some of the wiring for your hands free unit shorting the wiring on the spoiler switch. I would recommend pulling the stereo back out and make sure that none of your stereo wiring is interfering with the wiring on the switch panel below the stereo.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'm not exactly OEM as I bought the becker "aftermarket" It's model number is 6810 and I've seen the OEM quoted as 6811, also all the buttons are black with the brushed silver for the face plate. The (full) manual it came with quotes it as a DTM High Speed and says it will accept a Silverstone CD changer or Aux input, I've read somewhere that this is the required specs/minimum for Desions units, so maybe the Dension quoted merc or Renault (both becker oem I believe) may do the job but I really don't want to "put my money where my mouth is" and fail if someone's already done it.

(Anyone struggled with NavTeq/TMC on beckers in the UK yet)?

As far as the spoiler deploy is concerned I have replaced the 3000 evo and checked its and all the other associated wiring four times. Perhaps if someone knows what signal/wiring deploys the spoiler I may be in with a chance of sorting it. Forgot to say this only occurs when the car is in motion, if the car is started and stationary it doesn't happen so I assume there must be some form of speed sense that is being interfered with.

As you are experienced and knowledgeable with the crossfires have you come across anyone having issues with the engine cutting momentarily when depressing the clutch for a gear change.

And lastly (honest), I have what appears to be some form of pre-ignition (or sounds like) at lower revs 1,500 - 2,500 in second and third gears.

Help with any of the above would be greatly appreciated. I may seem overly fussy but my Crossfire has only got 2,000 miles on it and I'm obsessively particular when it comes to my cars (X-fire and X5, must be an X thing)!

Thanks again.

A passing thought to your Nav-Spoiler issue; they both "share" one common point, the PCM output for speed (Nav uses PCM out for speed/position) and spoiler deploys via speed input from PCM signal. The PCM originates from Body Control Module. Might be that you have a short and/or wrong wires hooked up somewhere at radio (Dark Green/White is Speed Input/PCM to Nav)?...best regards...ct

Sorted! Turns out the Mopar instructions supplied are wrong. They don't agree with what is in the Becker 6810 manual and after disconnecting the mute wire from the speed sense wire (yes you read it right, as per Mopar instructions). All is now fine with the Sat/Nav/Handsfree. Quite pleased with the parrot 3000 evo as well. It works very well even at 45 - 50 mph with the top down which is really good for voice activated!!!

Looks like I have the issue with the hesitation nailed as well, this could be linked to the pre-ignition...will update when I know.

Still looking for UK TMC codes for the ITIS system on Navteq for the Becker DTM High Speed if anyone has any leads I'd appreciate it.

Thanks again.

JP.

OK I'm going for it!... Desion do an Ipod kit for aftermarket Beckers that drive a CDC 7860. My manual suggests my 6810 will drive a 7860 so all being equal... I'll post the results.
