Default I did it!

I got a Pioneer CD receiver today (4800) and got it installed with no problems in just under an hour. I managed to tap off the hot lead to also get my Radar detector permanently wired at the same time. Everything looks and sounds great!

Thumbs up Re: I did it!

Nice job! Looks very original!! So, how much better does it sound? Is it more powerful? I think the stock Infinity is just a bit too wimpy, but I am reluctant to spend very much on an incremental improvement...

With the stock Base Roadster the difference is pretty good. The sound is tighter and seems louder. The main reason I made the switch was to allow for control of the 12 Disk changer which I plan to add soon (and for MP3 capability). I'm not sure I'd have changed out the radio just for the sound - even if it is better.

However, for $140 it was pretty much a no-brainer!

The match is so close you have to really look in the right light to notice that the color is a slight bit darker - not really noticeable unless you look carefully -and frankly - I like the look...

Gibson, can you tell us if you're having any problems now? Do you have your bass all the way up? Do you think you're going to blow the speakers?

I'm gettin the same one and I don't know if I'm going to have any problems turning ALL the way up and blowing my speakers.

That wouldn't be good.

It sounds fine. I don't like bass turned up into distortion - it's plenty loud and clear - even with the top down. all-in-all I'm really pleased with it.
