Head Unit pull-out tool
Anyone out there that has replaced their OEM radio head unit, who's interested in selling the tool to pull out the radio? Please PM me, and let me know.
Thanks.
Thanks.

No problem FP...what kind of aftermarket head unit are you getting, I should be getting mine soon...waiting for it to be shipped to me. I take it you are doing it yourself, let know how it went...I want to install mine but never done it before...it seems that circuit city and best buy don't know what they are talking about when it comes to a xfire.

You might want to try Tweeter. They have personnel that work with more sophisticated solutions.

No need to run new wires, Just wire up a plug and use the stock amp. It will sound better with an aftermarket radio. See this thread for info. See post #9 on this one.

Funny, I took the pictures of the tools on the net and made a set for nearly $0.00. Just some time with a hack saw and needle file set I already had on some mild sheet steel.

Hopefully I have time this weekend to work on this project.
I think I figured out you have to push the key (tool) all the way in each slot, and the unit pulls out really easy, but will the tool pull out relatively easy after I push the head unit back in?
Remove the tools after you get the unit out of the dash. You don't need them to install it, just slide the unit in until it "clicks" into place.

Thanks!!!
Here is a PDF that you can print and it should give you a template to scale. All you need from there is a small bit of stiff sheet metal and some time with a hack saw and needle files.
Hope that helps.
