Default Hooked up rear speakers in my coupe

Just hooked up a pair of rear speakers in my coupe and when I fad between the front speakers and the rear speakers the front don't seem to be as loud as the rear, any ideas?
The rear speakers are connected to the RCA outputs of my Pioneer.

Are you using an amplifier to drive the rear speakers?

Thank you for the reply, no I am not using an amplifier for the rear speakers just the RCA output connection from the rear of the Pioneer.

the RCA outs on the pioneer are most likely "PRE-OUTS" and are not amplified. i'm surprised you're getting any sound at all out of the rears. you need an amplifier.

why not just use the REAR SPEAKER OUTS from the pioneer?

TND - Did you already have rear speakers (the subs with the limited), or are you adding them to the base?

Thanks,
Jason

Jason,
I had an installer add the rear speakers along with a Blaupunkt head unit (had to replace 2 Blaupunkt units due to the motorized face plate break down) and he ran the rear speakers off the RCA outputs (I have a 2004 coupe ltd) so when I installed the Pioneer I ran the rear speakers off the RCA outputs.
I checked the wiring today and rewired the front speakers from the Pioneer white/white-black and gray/gray-black to the VW harness wires same wire colors and the volume is great in the front (much more volume even at a low setting). Hooked the rear speakers green/green-black and violet/violet-black from the Pioneer to the black/red and black/white from the rear speakers and the volume is not as loud as the front, am I doing something wrong? should the front and back speakers have the same volume?

would appear that you are running the front speakers off the factory amp and the rears off the radio. If that is the case you will have more sound output from the front due to the amplifier and a high level input signal to that amplifier than the amp in the radio.

Yes I believe the front speakers are running off the factory amp.
does that mean I need an amp for the rear speakers so both front and rear have the same volume?
