Default Aftermarket Radio Opinions?

What you guys think about this Clarion receiver?, uses Sandisk cards for music media, it offers rear RCA aux input instead of front, and is silver. It also have changeable colors to match xfire dials.

I'm sorry, it's kind of ugly. No CD, no AM, no changer controls. The only thing it has going for it is the A2DP audio transmission.

This does look interesting and different. The rear RCA in might open up some possibilities.

It is unfortunate that it doesn't have AM since most highway emergency broadcasts are still in AM but if it did have Sirius or if I can use the RCA and figure out some way to get Sirius hooked up discretely, I might just get it.

That's my main issue with many decks, "black". I want something to not look obviously after market when it goes in.

I think it's interesting too. But I also know I'd miss AM for news, sports and occasional talk. Over the next year I would expect to see many new head units come out - /w HD Radio, MP3 & Ipod inputs & Bluetooth (for your cellphone) at least, if not including GPS and touchscreens.

I thought about that one. I was VERY close to going with it. I liked the Bluetooth, SD Card Reader, Cosmetics, Variable Lighting. What finally killed it for me was the lack of Pre-Out RCA expandability. I also didn't like the fact that it didn't have a CD drive. Cheap money though...

I went with this one...

It's a discontinued Clarion unit from 2005. I was able to track one down as a Factory Refurb. It has variable illumination(I have it set for Blue in the day and green at night) It does EVERYTHING. Even has Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound capabilities... It's a Clarion DXZ955MC. I originally retailed for $799. I got it Refurbed for $305 Shipped.

The Pioneer Premier Unit that DanielNTX has is also a very nice silver faced unit with PLENTY of capabilities. It was my second choice after the Clarion (I'm a Clarion PosterChild, I LOVE their Decks, I've had 8 of them in 14 years and 25ish cars. I kept them longer than most of the cars)...
