I have looked over the Crutchfield site see lots of nice decks for the xfire and don't know much about any of them (stereo tech I'm not) any advice would be great, needs to play ipod though. I know the Dual XDM7610 don't match the dash perfect but it looks so cool or is it just flashy crap.
I like the prices at Crutchfield here in canada the same decks are $250+ the Dual was $280+ GST and Best buy and future shop said the car is to high-end to do the work on the xfire...I'm sure.
Thanks for all the How-to's almost feel I can do it myself...still not sure about that, I know you guys/gals will help in any way possible.

Yes you can do the stereo yourself. It's easy.

 

DanielNTX thanks for the reply and you maybe right if it's not a good brand name then money not well spent so I think its going to be plan B a JVC KD-PDR50 has all the right stuff I think, in a past post the pre-outs should be at 4 volts if possible this JVC is 2.5v x2 will this new head unit really be a good upgrade with all my stock speakers?

Sandgrounder I think if I can keep it out of my mouth I'll be fine think of all the cheap toys and hot wheels we played with as a kids and were doing fine, although my grand kids someday maybe better off because of issues like this.
So went out and bought the JVC KD-PDR50 $200 installed good sale at Visions but the sales guy said they would bypass my amp no difference in sound but the new system is 200w and I'm sure ours stock was 260w but at least no more scratched cd's and the ipod can be kept in the glovebox,full control from head.
