Default Finally a solution for ipods?

Do you think this would work for a non-NAV stock CD player?

It is, after all, an actual Becker adapter.

No because there's no changer control on the non-nav units.

Yes, it should work with the NAV unit as it's a Becker traffic Pro. Good find.

Cool Re: Finally a solution for ipods?

I would be very interested if this will work - I have a 2006 Roadster w/Nav Radio - don't know the model. Folks - please jump in as you can to fill in the 'blanks'

somewhere on here our model no. is listed and on the site for this connector/adaptor it states what models it works with...

This would be very cool...and thanks so much -

Our NAV unit is a Becker Traffic Pro. It should work. I have the adapter for the PhatBox and it works the same way. I had to find the Traffic Pro adapter to make it work. So I see no reason why it shouldn't work. I have the Phatbox installed, otherwise I would buy one.

Please note that you will NOT get any better quality than with a wireless FM transmitter. Which also translates into nowhere near as good of quality as with a CD. Another forum member has posted this information in the thread I started called "iPod Index."

Seems to me that a direct line not transmitted has got to be cleaner than a broadcasted radio signal, although I have heard several of those and think they sounded great. The advantage from my perspective is seeing the text displayed on the radio itself - don't know if any radio controls will control the IPOD so can't comment but if they do then that's another, and as I wrote, I believe the sound quality would be superior...but I don't have either yet so don't know...thanks

Anyone know the specific model no in our cars? There is one on the Becker site that although different on the face, the display looks the same...

This unit doesn't go in through the antenna though so sound quality should be more than fine. I have the Mopar iPod Integration Unit in my PT Cruiser (similar sort of adapter) and the sound quality is excellent. I'd love to know for sure if this thing works with our NAV units. I've not pulled my radio out to see the backside, but if it has a connection to accept this adapter (FP, are you reading???????????) then odds are we should be good to go.

I believe what you're thinking of is the units that essentially splice into the antenna inputs - those will have the same limitations as a radio broadcast (frequency response, dynamic range, etc) so they'll sound better than a wireless transmitter only because there won't be any static as the unit fights with regular broadcasts. All the splice-into-the-antenna units I've seen basically kill the antenna inputs when using the iPod.

Look in my gallery, and you should find a pic from the back of our unit. It has the connector.

I just sent an email to caraudiosecurity.com asking about compatibility with our Becker Traffic Pro NAV radios, and to get a shipping quote to my place. Soon as I hear back, whether they have any knowledge or not, I'll let you know.

Same here....saw the back of the ECU, lots of pictures of Danica Patrick and Elizabeth Hurley, and learned the FP must have trouble sleeping at night when his very attractive young daughters are out on dates.

Unless he just doesn't allow them to date.

Or introduces their dates to the shotgun he keeps behind the door.

Join in March and I'm not tHAT good with auto mods, but FP is dead on with most of his knowledge so if he says it will work chances are it will work. Please post the shipping and handling when you find it and what does L89.99 translate into dollars? Thanks

$182.40 - there's a drop down to select different currencies on their website and they say that they do ship to the US. As soon as I know something I'll pass it along.
