Default Add Sirius to stock radio?

Is it possible to add Sirius to the stock radio? My dad just bought an '04 X-Fire Limited and it did not come with Sirius and I would like to purchase it for him. My dad does not want a seperate "unit" and would rather have it work with the factory head unit. Is this possible? What do I need to purchase?

There is not a built-in satellite radio available for the Xfire. All of us that have Sirius have separate units.

You just need to buy a unit that goes through an FM tuner. You have to find a frequency with no interference for it sound sound perfect. Sirius used to make their units start at 87.9 which is interference free but due to some dumb FCC regulation nothing can transmit on that station since it's an Emergency station.

Sucks for me in my work truck cause I travel in a "tweener" area between 2 markets so I have to switch my station a few times for it to be clear.

Get the Sportster Replay, it has a button that you can preset like 5 different FM stations that you can switch to on-the-fly.

I first had a unit that went through the FM. It was OK but there was alot of interference if you drove over many miles. I ended up buying a flip screen navagation unit that was sat. ready. This is by far the best way but of course you pay more.

I had my Sportster 5 (with remote control) mounted in front of the tach I never use. Here it is...

I bought a Kenwood radio that had sirius capability. The sirius unit was about $100 bucks, it still requires an antenna but mine works great on the dash at the left corner. All I did was connect the radio, plug in the sirius unit transmitter fins a station to use, make that pe-set and no worries. Works as good as any built in unit for a fraction of the cost. I did have a seperate transmitter at first but had no place to put it, I use my tach. Others have found some nice spots to put the transmitter too. Hope I helped, I love sirius radio, nobody else plays jazz the way I like it!!!
