Just bought an 04. I just found out reading another post that in 04 there was no Limited or Base designation for the Xfire. From what I can tell, the 04s are basically like the 05 and later Limiteds, except that I don't think the 04s have rear speakers. Exactly where are the rear speakers on a 05 and later Limited?

 

04's have rear speakers in back of each seat just like the 05 and later.

 

Currently the base 2007s only have 4 speakers... all in the door.. if you have the stereo mark Infinity. You will have 6 speakers.. with 2 being in the cabin divider behind the seats.

 

no the cars only have a front set of components.(midrange and tweeter) and the two little subs are behind the seats...i install stereos for a living and have a really good system in mine and its easy to get wires around and really easy to work on....

 

2 midrange + 2 tweeters and 2 subs = 6 speakers, well it did when I went to school

 

That's a fact.... Only the BASE models don't have the subs behind the seats.

 

i havent seen one that didnt have the subs in them...i think all of them have them

 

fritzauf did you get your grill painted or did you buy one like that...i have a white xfire too and i like it a lot better than the chrome one from ctd...
i would like to know where you got it at???

 

I thought that my 2005 coupe only had speakers in the door. Can I install speakers in the cabin divide? If so, will it be necessary to install a new amp or am I wasting my money. Is the divide thick enough to take a 10" sub? Too many questions from a novice in electronics. Help is appreciated.

I know there's a left speaker right speaker balance control, is there a way to adjust the sound more towards the rear speakers instead of the front?

 

All 2004 models had the subs behind the seats
All later years base model only did not

 

YES, they have subs and an auto dimming rear view mirror !!!

2004 Coupes have the rear subs, 2004 Coupes are the only Xfires with auto-dimming rear view mirrors. Base Coupes and Roadsters introduced in 2005 donot have rear subs or auto-dimming rearview mirrors.
