Thumbs up Best Radar Detector Install EVER!

This is a very nicely done custom job with a Valentine 1.

I don't know how much trouble he went through to do this , but man, it's a neat job!

Now that is most definitely my next upgrade! Any clue as to where we might get this done in MD/VA?!

Again that is too cool

Wow! That is excellent work. When they upgrade Valentine Radar Detectors, is it always done through software, or do you sometimes have to send the parts back to them?

Its a software upgrade, but you have to send the unit back to Valentine. My guess is that this mod was done with the remote display uint and not the detector itself since cracking the case will void the warranty and Valentine will not service any opened detectors.

Just found this NOT a bad price at all but I think it is only the locator not the whole unit it was hard to tell reading the description. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VALEN...spagenameZWDVW

Everything done is close to $1K but I guess if you're in a state that doesn't allow detectors it's probably the best thing out there.

Just leave the actual unit in the armrest and you're good to go and if the cop asks, you can say it's your navigation

Its all that and a bag of chips. I have had mine since the mid 1990's and it has saved my back side more than times than I can count.

I am especially thankful to be using it in my W140 sedan because that sucker is sneaky fast. You're usually going MUCH faster than you think you are. It is as quiet at 100mph as it is at 30. Don't ask me how I know!

Here's the scoop from the link jonnyangel provided (Note - it assumes you have a Porsche or Ferrari):

BeastPower's exclusive Valentine One (V1) & Lidatek OEM rear-view mirror offers the most professionally integrated M5 radar/laser detector remote display available on the market.

BeastPower's setup has added dedicated Lidatek LEDs next to the V1 LEDs. One of these dedicated Lidatek LEDs sits in the front arrow (this goes off if the Lidatek front transponder(s) is(are) activated). The second of these dedicated Lidatek LEDs sits in the rear arrow (this goes off if the Lidatek rear transponder(s) is(are) activated). The flash rate of the dedicated Lidatek LEDs is different from the V1 LED flash rate, which allows one to know what triggered it, Lidatek or V1.

The main V1 and Lidatek units are not built into this mirror. They can be mounted in a location of your choice. It is recommended that the V1 be mounted to the far right on the passenger sun-visor, and have the power run from where the mirror is wired.

- BMW OEM M5 Rearview Mirror (made in Germany).
- Built-in Valentine One remote display (professionally etched).
- Built-in Lidatek Indicator LEDs (front and rear).
- Prewired for plug & play installation (detailed instructions with photos are provided).
- Direct replacement of OEM M5 mirror.
- Works with all versions of the Valentine One radar/laser detectors.
- Works with all versions of the Lidatek system (LE-20 and new LE-30).
- The mirror retains the auto-dimming feature and alarm indicator. - Valentine One detector and Lidatek system are not included.
- US shipping, handling & insurance: US$35.
- International shipping, handling & insurance: US$75.
- List Price: US$995 ($795 with mirror trade-in).

OHH believe me sidez I remember lol here is the email directly from the company back to me

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for contacting BeastPower Motorsports. We don't stock the mirrors
but you can have one custom made for your car by contacting the fabricator
that made these at www.aidesign.com.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

lol sorry Sidez better go with the ebay link i posted. $1500 is alot really you could have a totally hidden system that blocks lasers and radar for that. IT send an error code every time. HERE is my favorite new website http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/index.htm besides of coarse the forum. But through all the reading I have done on this topic this bad boy is the best of the best for laser http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/snooper920.htm and http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/snooper920.htm but the valentine and the bel990 and bellsti http://www.ukspeedtraps.co.uk/bel990.htm are the best for radar. There is a new company out that is doing laser and radar integration but I cant remember the name give me a few hours....

Here is another good website to read you can really learn alot http://www.radarroy.com/

LAST BUT NOT LEAST TELL ME IF ANYONE RECOGNIZES THE CAR IN THIS VIDEO http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSZL9...adar-detectors

So basically the replied with stating to contact aide designs to have them custom make you the mirror with the a radar detector and a laser jammer at you choice of products used..? and have all that for 1500? cause if so that is not so bad at all

Ideally I would like to have both the radar detector and laser jammer fitted into the rearview mirror... think that is possible? Going to contact that Aidedesigns as their located not to far from me and see what they can do for me.. cause I always wanted these producs just didnt want ugly peices of technology hanging from my windsheild

$1500 is just the mirror integration I believe with the two sending signals. You still need to buy the radar detector and a few other things. The laser jammer only requires a small box that you cant mount anywhere. The point of a laser jammer is to jam the laser... Which triggers a sound in your car... You slow down to speed and then shut the system off as fast as you can so the cop can get a reading. IF you don't ever shut it off he will get the Error code and be very upset knowing your jamming his laser and tag you anyway. When he sees you have laser jamming stuff on the exterior of your car you will be screwed in some but not all states. Now the best part about is IT is perfectly legal in most states to jam lasers. In the states its not legal it is legal to try and build a case saying your laser jammer is primarily used for opening and closing your garage door and did not have any intention of messing with or blocking a laser signal. lol god bless America there is a loop hole for everything. Worse comes to worse you hook the damn think up to homelink to be on the safe side.
