+40
So I was listening to the stereo today up at the school. Both of the doors were open, and I wanted to turn it up to where the people standing outside of the car could hear it pretty well. I was playing music through my iPod which was sitting on the dashboard with an iTrip. There was no static. It was picking up the broadcast flawlessly. I believe the bass setting was at either +7, +8, or +9. Something like that. Will it go any louder if you reduce the bass? I have to say that I was sort of surprised that it wouldn't go any louder. Don't get me wrong... It was plenty loud; but, I look at our other vehicles and the volume limit in them is unapproachable. Is anyone else sort of surprised by this?
What EQ setting was your IPOD set on I think it makes a slight difference if you set it to loudness and when using a Itrip I honestly dont think you can get the volume you can with a direct connection i used to have one in my truck and when i bought a new truck i got the direct connection and maybe its the new truck speakers but it made a huge difference in volume (both trucks were F150's the old one being a 05 and the new being an 08 with the sub but I had a sub put in the old truck so volume wise was similar)...
Ya can't get past 40....My Roadster spends alot of time on 40 when the top is down
After I get done getting the car to go faster it will be time to put in a better sound system!

Thanks for the replies. Do you all think that the capacitor mod might would increase or make it seem like the volume is louder?
Also, would an additional amp add some volume? Thanks.
