12mm to remove nuts off of wipers
... TX30 security bit to remove siren from housing.
The nut on my wipers required a 13 mm socket. (In my experience 13mm is more common than 12mm.)
Also, as others have noted a TX40 tamper proof torx bit is needed.
Tool Tip I too purchased a 4" three jaw gear puller to remove the wiper arms, which would not budge with a light duty puller. This 4" gear puller's bolt ended in a sharp point that was very difficult to keep on top of the stud while turning the bolt. Ugh. My solution: Put a penny on top of the stud which gave a wider and softer surface. Worked great. Ended up with a nice indentation in the penny. A nickel would probably work too. (Or buy a puller that does not end in a sharp point!)

First off, thank you to all the forum members who contributed to this "how to".
My SRT6 had never had the cowl removed to clean out the drain channels. So I went to work today following the step by steps provided here. That penny on the stud for the wiper removal WORKS with your jaw puller. Thank you BobG. Decided to spend the money and get the siren replaced. After replacing it but before assembling the cowl and wipers , I reconnected the battery and tested the remote lock/unlock and voila...I now have a chirp when she unlocks and a double chirp when she locks! In reading the library of how to's and maintenance articles, I remember reading the drivers side of the cowl at the stud hole was missing when assembled at the factory the large rubber escutcheon. The little plastic caps that cover the wiper nuts were also missing from my car. Yup, the domino effect took over...whileimatits were in gear on this drain cleaning project. The pass side under the cowl was packed with leaves that blocked the drain. I can see where water can easily end up on the pass side floor as there is a clear path to the blower motor just above this drain channel.
I stopped by at my local Mercedes parts department and ordered those 3 missing parts. She's all back together and looks complete!
Took a bunch of pics (before I touched anything) as well as during the disassembly. Helps in getting your wipers back in their correct park position. I'll try and post them here.

Here's additional pics of the debris blocking the pass side drain as well as a couple of the opening where the blower motor sits. You definitely want to pull the cowl to do this.

Great job! What do you plan to do with the old siren? You do know you can replace the old leaking batteries, they sell them on fleabay ( https://www.ebay.com/itm/22279912721...m=222799127219 ). Cut it in two, desolder, resolder, and glue and tape it back together. PPL have done this and restored the siren. Good luck!

The Torx tamper-proof drivers are in a great set of bits and drivers, Neiko 10048A, around $12, and the ABN 3 inch gear puller is around $12. We all have metric socket sets, don't we?

I know this is a pretty old thread but I recently ordered a Mercedes siren #1718205326 off an 08 CLK 350/550 as a trial and error purchase and it works! Only cost me $30... hope this helps someone.
I know this is an older post but I purchased this exact Alarm module 5326 last 4#’s and it works for the unlock as it beeps once. It does not however beep 3 times like it should when locking. Does anyone by a glimmer of a chance know how to activate that function? I know it’s a long shot as ours originally didn’t have this feature. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with deactivating the TPMS through the dome light method, as they’re both on the same fuse. Thanks any and all in advance for help.
