2 GB Maximum.

Not SDHC compatible.

I downloaded the manual at Clarion USA.

I really liked the look of this one but went with the Blaupunkt receiver with an SD card.

The Clarion may but the Blaupunkt does not.

OK, your probably wondering why I have cut and pasted this into this reply, well the answer is easy...I've spent some time today reading threads and I'm sick and tired of the wise-*** remarks that are made to people just flat out asking simple questions. A perfect example of this is back a few replies in this very thread. I have some questions on tires as I've seemed to pick up a hitch-hiking screw in my rear tire, but I dare not ask any questions on any threads because some wise-*** dork is most likely to chastise me for not wanting/willing to spend eternity reading thru not relevent information just to become more confused. So if the powers to be are listening/wondering why someone such as myself is not posting..there's your answer !!
I just wonder if these same people go to meets and the such and refuse to talk to people until they have completly read the the proper reading material and have properly pre-worded their conversations. Get a life and lighten up or just go back down in your parents basement in your stained wife beater tee-shirt and underware and play some more world of warcraft or runscape or whatever else it is that those dorks do !

It's the Blaupunkt Melbourne. I saw the Clarion head unit discussed in this post and thought it would be perfect for the Crossfire's interior. It just wasn't available in my area when I was ready to pull the trigger.

The appeal for both of these head units for me was that they don't play compact discs. I destroy all of my CDs in my car and needed to force myself not to use them in the car.

I'm now ready to upgrade to navigation and so far my pick is the Clarion VRX785BT. The unit linked below needs an expensive Nav HDD addon that costs the same as the display.

You still have to read thru'em and there not all filled with pertinent information. But I think I might have already stated that...But on a lighter note there seems to be no shortage of characters always telling others to just use search, just use search. Can't someone possibly, maybe just ask a question that yes might have been asked already? A possible solution to this dilema could be a gentle re-wording of the offer from the powers to be to "why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums? I might myself be inclined to never ruin anothers day here on the forum by attempting to engage in use-less banter if I was aware of it's ill effect on people, especially the most negative of people who seem to get their rocks off with quite a number of..shall we say, negative replys to threads...... I think a better way to possibly dumb down what I was attempting to say is, If a person has something that he or she feels like typing a reply about and it's not really a positive reply, don't bother.

sowardcustoms:

Thanks for your idea and instructions on painting the face of the Clarion unit. I've ordered this particular one and really look forward to installing it in my car. It looks amazing in your setup.

When you had the paint mixed, did you inform them it would be used for a plastic application? I just want to make sure I get it as nice as I can.

One question about the buttons that you painted over - I take it the text on those buttons is just painted on, rather than engraved into the button, correct? I've seen pictures of the unit that have engraved (cut out) text and also pictures with the text painted on the buttons.

Ahh, so it's just text (power, menu, etc), rather than smaller buttons, above and below the center line of buttons?

Well, I finished my install of the FB275BT.

Used Tamiya Silver Leaf plastic paint for the bezel and area around the buttons. Used Plasti-Dip on the center **** since I figured paint would rub off with prolonged use, which there are some imperfections in finished button, which are noticeable in the picture, however in-person they are hard to spot.

Thumbs up Re: clarion head unit anyone have this

Wow....that looks really good! I am glad I waited to buy one after all! How do you like this unit so far quality wise? Was the paint job spray or hand paint?
