Default clarion head unit anyone have this

I was thinking about going with this head unit. Clarion FB275BT it looks like it would match our console pretty well, and it has bluetooth streaming, and sd interface. and you can get the ipod interface. And its dirt cheap. Anyone have any experiance with this one.

I have it...love the SD card feature...no CD. No AM tuner....but i don't care about that. My radio stations don't pick up as well with this radio as they did with the Factory radio. Bluetooth is great.....caller ID comes up on faceplate....also comes with the external mic that you can plug into the back of the radio and mount in the interior somewhere. I did not do this and it still picks up my voice nicely.

For the price....you can't beat it!

That's a sweet job -- it looks great.

I assume that you used Chrysler silver paint made for the XF interior. Happen to have a part number?

no chrysler does'nt offer the silver paint. i had to go match it at a paint supply store. it matches pretty close but not perfect. i had to take apart the faceplate to paint it but it was worth the time spent. the best part of the install was the factory harness plugs right in the unit just like its a factory radio...

How does it sound in comparison to the OEM head unit? I've done the simple resistor/crossover fix for the door speakers, so I like having the bass cranked up on the head unit to get the small subwoofers to move my seat. Without even those basic EQ controls does this head unit sound any good?

Thanks!

it sounds about the same as the factory head unit and it does have the basic treble and bass controls like the factory unit for the money i think its the best pick if your looking for bluetooth integration and its easy to install took me about 3 minutes to put it in i have vever seen an aftermarket head unit just plug in without any wiring what so ever its crazy its like clarion made this for our cars...............

I certainly like the look of this black one over the white.
How difficult was it to take this face plate apart to paint? What method of painting did you use for this?

Do you think the FM reception can be fixed with an antena amplifier?

Taking Apart The Face Plate Is Pretty Simple. The Only Hard Part Is Pulling That Middle **** Off. You Have To Do This First. It Just Pulls Off But It Is A Pain. Then Take The Little Screws Out Of The Back And Unsnap The Back Off. Then The Circuit Board Comes Out. Then You Can Pop Out The Buttons. The Only Thing That Does'nt Come Out Is The Clear Plastic Lens. I Had To Mask That Off To Paint. The Paint I Bought At A Hobby Shop. I Took My Old Cupholder And Matched The Color. Its Not A Perfect Match But It Works Hope This Helps...

I think your keyboard is damaged. Your text is not legible, and rather irritating. You may want to have it fixed.
