Default Factory Alarm Question for SRT

I was curious what exactly will cause the alarm to go off. With my windows left open and my alarm on I opened my door by reaching inside the car and opened it with the interior handle. I was expecting the alarm to go off but to my suprise nothing happened, not even a little beep or warning. Now I mean with the widows open it wouldnt be too hard to get into the car anyway but evenso someone, at least from my understanding, could technically break in the car without the window open and not set off the alarm if me openingi it from the interior doesnt set it off. I'm not very concerned about the car getting stolen, i know its really hard to do and no one really wants to steal one of these (no market), but more about things out of my car getting stolen. Can anyone shed any light on this?

Bubba, the other day, car locked, top down. I wanted to get into my
glove box, which was also locked. I reached in, unlooked the glove box
and then opened it. Alarm started to scream. I was really surprised.

That's what you get for leaning on your car.

Mine goes of when the weather changes...like before a thunderstorm or a front moves in. Went off 3 times in an hour tonite. Nieghbors ready to kill me. Brought it to dealer three times...no codes all normal. Dealer says garage door openers can do it...no one has auto garage doors around here. He kept it in his service bay for 3 days no alarm...duh...no weather change either.

Questions How do I get ahold of Chyrsler District Service Mgr? (New England) I searched the Chrysler site.

Anyone else experience this?

Anyway of putting a kill switch on it....safe nieghborhood?

If it happened to others how was it fixed?

mine is not that sensitive. i park my car on a lift and i lift it up with the alarm on and nothing. and that is way more loud than a garage door

and you must be a light sleeper. because i would NEVER be woken up by a car alarm. i sleep through fire alarms. burglar alarms, tornado sirens haha you name it. so if your neighbors start complaining just say hey at least i heard it and turned it off! your neighbors could live by me and it would never be turned off! well until i woke up

BTW Everyone... the alarm DOES NOT go off with glass breakage.. the car has NO shock sensors.. This includes the windshield and side windows.. I know from first hand experience..

Search for a thread I started about my windshield getting smashed in..

No apology neccessary..I love to bust butt. BTW...his second step of "fixing" the problem...disabled the siren. Nice to know when I am in a parking garage sometime.
