i understand you wanting someone else to confirm, i take no offense and i would do the same..

last thing i will add before a video is that the iphone outputs any sound through the dock connector.
Were you ever able to get the iphone dock to work on your head unit and pandora?

I can play Pandora on my storm...but it just isn't the same as if there was a fully integrated headunit that plays pandora...the theory behind is fairly easy...but i'm sure the practicality of it is not so easy...

so for now, i will just listen to pandora on my storm and CDs' in my car til i put my Pioneer 6100UB headunit in with the USB for my hard drive... oh well.

Sorry I never made a video, completely forgot. It's to late now (1am) and i'm going on vacation in 4 hours for about a week and a half.

But yes, it works fine. Basically just hit the home button, load up youtube, pandora, iheartradio, etc etc, and it will play the music. Keep in mind that since the iphone natively can't have background processes, you won't be able to make phone calls / text / surf the web / use your phone while the music is playing.. or it'll stop.

If your iPHone is jailbroken.. then we have quite a different story! Load up Cydia and install Backgrounder.. this'll do the trick.

I just discovered an amazing app for my Blackberry called IHeartRadio. It lets you choose from 350+ stations by format, city, call sign, or a random selector. Sounds great too. You can set favorites, tag songs, and download lyrics while you listen.

iheartradio.com 350+ Radio Stations, Videos & More

Free for BB and iPhone.

Blackberry natively multitasks. I love walking around with my device and listening to music while chatting on AIM, viewing a spreadsheet, or writing an email.

Blaupunkt is planning to offer a head unit with built-in streaming next year.

I did see that Gizmodo - World's First Internet Car Radio Would Go Perfectly in KITT's Dashboard - miroamer

It does look like a 2 din unit, unless they have another version it wont do us much good..... plus its a year away and I want it now!!

I appreciate the video nox1s, when you can. I'm thinking on getting the new iphone, but for an extra $30/month service plan, the only thing that can justify it enough is getting pandora to work in the car I dont care about the other features.

I can put it in the Cadillac. I'm sure the Koreans will come up with a smaller single-din version for a much lower price.

Blaupunkt lists a 1-Din version as well. Hopefully it matches the dash reasonably well.

yes, it will. the audio isn't controlled by the deck, it's controlled by the phone itself. once you load up another application that outputs sound it halts the "ipod" function of the iphone to output the sound of the new application. it just won't display the information.. like artist, etc.

Buy a Palm Pre and wire it into your head unit! It has a Pandora app, you could wire its 3.5 headphone jack to a head unit and wire a touch stone adapter to power the pre in the car so your battery doesnt die

I just went to a couple stereo stores, it seems like compatability with iphone apps connected to decks is somewhat random. I tried on a mid range premier Pioneer deck and nothing happened, an Alpine CDA-105 and nothing happened, but a IDA-X100 did work. Since that is a discontinued model, I was thinking maybe IDA-X303 but I'm still a little worried.
