Default XM Antenna Placement

I just recently bought the XM XPRESSRC, and I had no problem installing it via my factory car stereo. Although the XM antenna is being a nuisance, I ran it outside and installed the antenna between the bottom of the windshield wipers. As I am driving around, the signal drops and especially when I make turns.

I do not want to place the antenna on top of the vehicle since it looks like a pimple on the roof. I tried sticking scotch tape temporarily on top of the antenna and sticking it right under the brake light of the hatch window (inside of the car), but still it did not work well. I do not know if the tint is getting in the way.

Does any one have any suggestions on mounting the XM antenna? If you have pictures please share them with me since it helps with the process.

i mounted my Sirius antenna to the very top edge of the rear glass. used 3M molding tape. clean the window really good first, and stick the tape to the antenna first. i used a couple strips and trimmed it to fit perfectly.

tried to pull the antenna off and it doesn't want to budge at all.

i'd take a pic but it's still dark...

If you can take a picture at your convenience, it will help to have a visual. Have you had any problems with your signal?

Awesome, thanks for posting those pictures. When you see a picture it makes a big difference. I will move mine to the back window, and I will see if it works.

with the center spine there's nowhere to put it on the roof...and there was no metal to stick it to below the window. i know they say the antenna uses the metal as a ground plane but i haven't had problems. went to Toronto and back and never lost signal.

OK, any suggestions for those of us with roadsters? Will it receive signals through the soft top? I'm thinking about placing the antenna between the roll bar hoops?

on my Wrangler the antenna is mounted to the top of the sound bar, which is covered with fabric. i have no problems getting a signal with either the soft top or the hard top installed.
