Default Hosed on a Wiring Harness?

Hi All,

I didn't turn up anything about pricing for wire harnesses in the search. I just got quoted $150.00 for the Chrysler crossfire wiring harness by Best Buy. This seems ridiculous, especially when I see that crutchfield has them for $13.00! Am I way off the mark or what? The harness at Best Buy seemed to have a little black box that the guy said was needed for all the "computer things".

Thanks for any advice.

What are you trying to hook up? Just an aftermarket headunit?

This is all you need:
Receiver Wire Harness For select 1995-up Audi, Chrysler, Ford, Porsche, Saab, and Volkswagen models at Crutchfield.com

Thanks for the reply. I was just looking around myself and it looks like he was trying to sell me the standard harness for '05+ Chrysler,Dodge, and Jeeps. I did take his word on the antenna adapter and it's female to female, so he was wrong on both counts. I fell for the 2nd though. I'll return the antenna one and order the two from Crutchfield.

Edit: I just purchased a Clarion VRX585USB DVD deck. It's silver is a dead match to the dash and I will paint the trim piece.
Thanks again,

Did you purchase that Clarion deck from Crutchfield? I noticed it says discontinued but you never know..

If so, Crutchfield will send you EVERYTHING. Radio removal keys, antenna adapter, and the harness. They're an awesome company to work with.

You will need an antenna adapter, though.

Antenna Adapter Euro female to Motorola male Works with a variety of 1999-up European and American vehicles at Crutchfield.com

That's the one I believe.

I'm afraid I did not get it from Crutchfield. They just have the best information on decks. I got it from a Visions electronics here in Alberta. They're no longer carrying the Clarion line so they were clearing out remaining stock at pretty good prices.

Hey,

Just a quick followup for Canadian folks. Best Buy and Future Shop use Bestkits.com for their harnesses and antenna adapters. The Part numbers for our car are 'BHA1784' for the harness, and 'BAA22' for the Antenna Adaptor.

Hope this helps for those that don't want to order online.
