How to really wire and amp to the trunk
So far there has only been one thread to tell us how to run a power wire to the back trunk. The thread explained how to run the wire throught the rubbber grommett under the battery, which was very useful indeed. But that was the extent of explaining this.
My expereince with doing this was rough, howevr I accomplished. here it is step by step after getting the wire through the grommett
1. I began taking apart the plastic and carpet inthe trunk. This made it easier to access the the holes underneath the seatbelt. be careful to,black plastic clips need to be taken off carefully or will break. There ar also white plastic clips that hold the plastic to the body, becareful with those. If they break you can easily purchase some more at auto zone or something.
2. after removing everytning, I removed square padding under the seat belt mount. This made a big hole easy to access to the trunk. I fished the 4 gauge wire on the passenger side ofthe car, under the carpet (pull off bottom door trim) and into the hole under the seat belt. On the driver side, I connected my RCA and amp remote to the deck, fished it out on the left side and tucked the rmaining wireunder the carpetside where the shifter is and behindthe seat. Both of these wires were fished through the dirver side seat belt hole and tot the trunk
3. I grounded the grond wire underneath the foam stuff where the jack is. Tucked the excess wire under the carpet where the hump is.
4. Put everything back together. Now is a good time to buy extra clips, as the factory, for some reason, had broken alot of them in the process. when I took them apart, many were broken already.
After everything is put back, put the subs in, wire your amp up, and you ARE GOOD TO GO!
Hope this thread helps!

Their has to be an easier way. I too want power in the cargo area to power a transponder.
Has anyone found a hot wire in the back cargo area that they can tell us about? I'm thinking the switch that operates the cargo lamp should have 12V arriving at it. Can anyone tell me where to find that switch?
TIA
