Normally $169, $100 off as a manager's special. It was $100 more at other BB stores in the area. I thought about it for a couple hours, did some research online, came back, and they were all sold out when I returned. Fortunately, they offered me the display unit. Came with all the sleeves and hardware. No box or manuals though. On eBay theyre going for $81-$170.

What makes it special is that you insert your iPod behind the faceplate where it remains charged and out of sight. I don't own an iPod (it works with all kinds from about 2005 and later), but as an AM/FM-RDS/Aux head unit it works very well. The menus are logical with a full spectrum EQ. It has a silly little video screen saver with space ships and cars and such, but I leave it set to the spectrum analyzer from which you can choose three modes of dancing lights. Its less annoying than it sounds.

It doesn't play CDs, but CDs are outdated for mobile use.

Installation was simple. I followed the guide at 2004 Chrysler Crossfire and made sure to swap the constant and switched wires when I connected the Scosche harness, $22 at Best Buy.

I ran the aux input cable into the coin tray where I have my Sansa connected. I'll probably buy a used iPod soon.

I like the RDS function. Station names and artists are retrieved very quickly.

The sound quality is no better than the OEM Becker radio, but thanks to all kinds of EQ adjustments and settings I can dial out some harshness. Nice thing is, if I get tired of this thing soon I can just eBay it for a small profit.

I usually like to stick with the big names, i.e Eclipse, Alpine, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc... never heard of Fusion.. but if you're happy that's all that matters! Surprised that there's no noticeable sound quality increase, when I installed my single-din Pioneer I could tell, and then when I installed my Kenwood In-Dash the increase was significant.

Yeah, I imagine the higher end products would show a big improvement.

My brand of choice is Nakamichi, but the quality stuff from them is hard to come by since they were bought out by some place in China.

Just bought a used 30GB iPod and dropped it in there. Sounds AMAZING. The controls mimic the menus and functions of the iPod click wheel.

Before, with the aux input, I was doing digital to analog to digital. With the iPod on the dock connector, its straight digital and sounds vastly superior to the Becker radio with a CD.

I am freaking impressed. For $100 I got an iPod and a head unit that swallows it whole and treats it like an internal hard drive.
