Default speaker cover with CHROMED surround

As I am not used to the forum, I've posted this in 'interior"which I feel is not the best thread.
SO, again:

I have a broken speaker plastic cover in the door of the driver of our 2005 Xfire Ltd.( a good kick by someone before we bought the car).
Our local dealer told me they now only have covers with black surrounds , no more chromed one. I'd hate to have to replace both, for authenticity as well as the task of having to remove both door pads. Anyone can guide me on where to get a CHROMED SURROND one, please email me at pao@paouimet.com.
NOS or from a wreck should be OK.

Can't help much except to tell you that you don't need to remove the doors to remove the speaker grills, they just pop off..

FP knows of a company that chromes plastic, if it's truly necessary. You could just buy the black one and get it chromed. Problem solved

ok guys, i am in need of one of this. I thought my door was open on the highway so while driving i opened my door and shut it to make sure it was completely closed a couple of times. I arrived home and noticed my speaker cover is gone, i think it flew away. Anybody willing to sell me one?

thanks

No, but I heard that there was a bad ***, pissed off redneck in a red F-350 4X4 with a 10" lift driving around Joliet, IL trying to find the ******* in the white Crossfire that threw a speaker cover through the grill of his truck puncturing his radiator. LOL

You might want to stay clear of the redneck bars for a while. Just Saying....

My car has a minor crack as well, barely pushed in... roughly the size of a postage stamp. Nothing crucial, but I'm going to stay vigilant and try to scoop up a NOS/takeoff speaker grille... As small as the crack is though, I'm going to try to simply glue/epoxy the edges and push it back out flush. If it seals properly, it should relatively undetectable. Even as-is, it's very hard to detect.

Well he got me at the next light. He wasn't driving an f350. He was really upset about the damage I apologized and offered him a free front end to fix the damages but he would need to do the installation and he nicely accepted. I think it turned out pretty good, what do you think?

I thought you said door speaker cover in your first post? Ive never seen a door speaker cover w/out the chrome trim unless its maybe a base model and never seen a rear speaker (subwoofer) with trim.

Their are a couple of totaled cars on E-Bay, by the same place, try to get a hold of them and see if they still have the speaker grilles, one is white and the other one is blue they have been selling parts off these cars for a little while now, so I don't know what they might have left.
