Sat Nav 6810
Hi ya aLL ,
Just joined and have picked up an SRT Roadster over here in the UK. I have also bought a Becker Be 6810 system but as many of you might know the buttons are black. Does anyone know where i could possibly get a set of silver button that i could then have fitted, or know where i could contact for spares etc. I know other models have the same buttons but not sure which they are.
Thanks
Roody

Hey Roody congrats on the purchase good to have you on the forum ,as far as the ***** you might check the section PRIVATE CLASSIFIDES there may be some on there and also you can let everyone know what you need and they can probably help you out,,,,i'm sure someone on here has a set....good luck and again Welcome

I don't know your level of skill regarding this but I would be very careful about modifying the front bezel on these radios and they can break in a dozen or so places very easily. I took one apart to paint the face of it and after getting about 3/4 of the way and snapping 3 tabs and resoldering a few things, I decided it was too much of a risk and not worth painting it so I put it back together while I still felt that it would work. Good luck with it though and make sure to show us picture if you get it done.
Would you mind indulging me with a picture of your radio? I'm not familiar with the 6810. The Base models come with a 6806 and the Limited and SRTs without Nav come with the 6812. The factory Nav in our cars is is a 6811 so you may very well have a variant of that and it's nothing more than finding a Nav radio and switching out the face plate albeit it's most certianly more than just swapping out the faceplate as I made evident in my previous post.
Thanks
Thanks

I like the black buttons, they would go OK in my car.
Yup Dave that's the one and no Rudy I don't have it. I sent it back to the Dealer in England and that's how I ended up with the cargo cover, clear markers, etc., etc. The only thing that would work on it in North America was the CD player and the FM band............am uses different frequencies. If you're loking for European disks I've seen them on E-bay for about 10#'s.
Roody, the fellows name is Dave Thurston and he's in Luton. He's very good to deal with, I just bought a new set of North American Nav disks from him. His ebay store is called motorparts69 and the address is: eBay UK Shop - THURSTONS MOTOR SPARES: ELECTRICAL, COOLING, STEERING SUSPENSION

I e-mail beckerautosound.com and they do have the silver radio ***** for the Crossfire HU's. Very pricey at $12.40 US each plus shipping. Has anyone been able match the silver and paint these successfully? Gonna start looking for some silver shoe dye!

Hi ya ye i have been in touch with them also , going to send me over a complete facia with all the buttons fitted for $107 plus the ship.
so i am going to go with that , the unit cost me $220 so with that and the new facia still cheaper than buying another unit. It was my fault for not looking too close in the first place and was a cash deal (stupid me).
i know someone who can fit the facia but will have to have the unit properly fitted at an audio center as the insurance in the UK are hot on that.

Roody, good luck with that, glad to see you came up with a reasonable solution. For any wanting to paint their radio ***** silver, try Angelus Acrylic leather paints. It may be purchased in small amounts ($2-$3/bottle) , mixed to match colour perfectly and you can get a satin or high gloss finisher that seals the surface.

I have the stock radio and a used nav unit that bluecoupe fitted for me. The stock radio is mint and I wanted to put the fascia of the stock radio onto the nav unit. I figured the buttons were not attached to the fascia, is that the wrong assumption?
Anyway I never got too far as it appeared dangerous to go much farther without breaking something, so I quit.
