Kenwood X993 Install. (Matching interior LED)
Finally found time to have my Kenwood x993 from my previous vehicle moved into the Crossfire. Sound quality has dramatically improved and volume can be increased with out distortion over the stock unit. Unfortunaty only so much can be done with out replacing the stock amplifier I plan on doing sometime with in the next year. The x993 is kenwoods top single din model with a 5 band EQ and various adjustable crossover points, not to mention the hand free calling is nice now have a standard shift car. My next project will be installing my Boston Acoustic SPG555 woofer (1000 watts RMS at 4 ohm) as well as the passive radiator. I plan on doing some custom fabrication with the box and will be sure to post pictures of the install. The woofer will be powered by my alpine pdx 1.1000.
Having had the unit for more than a year now I pretty much know it inside and out and what be more than happy to answer your question are tell the pros and cons if anyone is interested.

if the sound quality has improved then thats all that matters. i think the stock sound is really impressive as is but for you audio buffs out there i guess there is always room for improvement.

you must hit a GTG sometime. The OEM unit is truly lacking. Except in looks.
i was actually at a gtg yesterday lol. but for me my last two cars where a 1998 and 1996 and stepping up to the crossfire sound system thats a big step up for me. i was never really into the whole car audio thing and i hate subs with a passion so the stock sound system is good enough for me but for you guys who like that stuff i give you props cause i tryed to install an aftermarket cd player once and i got so frustrated. the cd player worked but i used wiring caps and thats not the way to go. im more into performance anyways.
