Default Best radio

Please don't tell me to search the threads!!!!! There are about 10.0000.0000.00000.000 threads!
Is there a good radio that is plug and play and still uses our amps and sub woofer, or are we stuck not using the rear speakers at all? I would like a touch screen and have installed lots of radio's so I'm not afraid of wiring in a harness. If we can't use the rear speakers, do they sound good just using the front ones?

All radios that are single din size will work great. Just choose the one that best fits your needs. I suggest getting one that has 2v or more preamp outs and wire it with a harness that is designed for using the preamp outs. I hooked mine up using a harness that was designed for using the internal amp in the headunit and it caused distortion. I had to splice in some RCA cables on the speaker wires of the harness to use the preamp outs.

The factory amp just has 1 set of left and right inputs for all 6 speakers.

To summarize get the harness that is made for preamp out (local shop is a good place to start) and use any radio you want.

This thread shows how to separate the front and rear speakers, allowing you to have 'real' subwoofer control:

I've done it (not too hard) and it makes a world of difference...you can crank up the sub and get it to punch pretty hard without distorting the door speakers.
