On the trail of the elusive NAV update..
In an attempt to avoid losing a bet and having to buy "PIZZAGUY" a pizza (irony?), I am still in pursuit of an update to our NAV system discs. Having exhausted previous efforts, I am now awaiting a response from the HARMAN BECKER AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS GmbH. My sources say that they are the ones who actually designed and programmed the original discs. "TRIMMY" recently informed us that updates had been made for the UK, but alas, not for the good ol' USA.
Any other cold case facts that may help this possible Fool's Errand would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect that somewhere disks exist that work, they may be for some other car but the Becker program would work on them maybe after a subtle change in the program on the disk.
Yeah, my portable GPS is NAVTEK; I spoke with them and they had nothing new. The search goes on... and the pizza oven starts to warm up.
There's been so much discussion about the lack of updated NAV discs for the Crossfire factory NAV system and I just have to say - it seems very odd that this car, or any car for that matter, would have a completely proprietary NAV system in it. That just doesn't make economic sense. Why code all new programming for every different make and model? Surely there has to be some crossover somewhere with another system. It's just nuts that nobody has been able to uncover it yet, or that none of the players involved in the manufacture of the various units has said something similar. Really, it should be as simple as "use the new discs from (insert make and model here) and you'll be fine." But no.
